Creative, diligent, thoughtful, hardworking and big in heart, senior Cole Sanders has plans for a career in the animation and film/video industry. He’s an excellent student and athlete (varsity football) at Castro Valley High as well as an accomplished martial artist. He and his family (shown here with Mom, Yolanda M Sanders, Dad, Corey, and younger sister) have been researching California colleges that have established animation programs and they will visit those campuses over the next few months. Cole is drafting his UC application personal statement essays and will apply to UC – University of California campuses as well as CSU – California State University campuses in November for admittance in Fall 2016. He’s also getting ready to take the SAT exam for a second time as he knows that four-year colleges honor the highest score from each SAT exam subcategory which is why it is recommended to take the exam more than once. This means for instance if a Math score is highest from exam #1 than that is the score that will be honored. If a Critical Reading score is highest from exam #2 than that is the score that will be honored. Colleges review GPA, core courses, SAT (or ACT) scores, community service, leadership and extracurricular activities when making admittance decisions. Some colleges, such as the UC’s, also have essay requirements. Good luck to you, Cole! You are a fine young man and a great human being! Bright future ahead!
